This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection].1 John 1:5 AMP
So the other day, I was charging my phone and using it at the same time (don’t do it; 0% recommended!).
The light from my screen shone on the floor; it was then I noticed that a chain of ants had been “travelling” beside me. I quietly followed them with my light, as if without it, they’d lose their way. Lol
As if they had noticed me, this army of ants started running away. My mischievous self followed them, and enjoyed watching them scuffle away from the light. I eventually killed all of them. (stop judging me🙄)
That moment revealed to me a period of time in my life when I ran (at all cost) away from the light (God). Darkness (Sin) excited me, and any sign of light made me anxious, as if my end had come.
I thought God was like me, who enjoyed looking on as His children ran around in (dark) circles. I thought He would look on as I wallowed in sin and the likes, and then strike me dead one day when He’d had enough of me.
But He’s far from that. He is a loving Father, ever-willing to flush out all sin out of you, without judgement. He is ready to help you see yourself in the light He’s called you to.
“But you are a chosen race , a royal priesthood , a consecrated nation , a [special] people for God’s own possession , so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 AMP
And so, if you are anything like the old me, here’s a word for you: the light is profitable for you, and it will do you good.
“All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; “ 2 Timothy 3:16 AMP
So yeah, surrender to the light. Good thing about this exposure is that, it’s not the kind that brings shame, but one that opens your eyes and heart to the possibility of holiness and endless love and life.
“…Today [while there is still opportunity] if you hear His voice, Do not harden your heart, …” Hebrews 3:15 AMP
